John Yoo wrote legal briefs to justify torturing prisoners who were held for years without charges. According to the International Red Cross, over 100 prisoners died in these secret torture sessions.

Some defend Professor John Yoo teaching law at the UC Berkeley on grounds of “free speech” and “academic freedom”.
