Rock the Parties: Bring the Peace Message to the Election Race 2008

Let’s raise a ruckus and let the politicians know that the majority of Americans will not stand for ongoing war, occupation, and killing. Sign up now to join our CODEPINK team.

Let’s show them what Democracy looks like and put “Ending the War in Iraq and stopping all new wars at the top of the Agenda.” We will bring our always vibrant creative messaging inside and outside the conventions. Join a team, join us there, bring your creativity, passion and heart.

Let’s seed the change, let’s be the change!

CoODEPINK National’s Mission Statement codepinkalert.org:

Mission Statement:
CODEPINK is a women-initiated grassroots peace and social justice movement working to end the war in Iraq, stop new wars, and redirect our resources into healthcare, education and other life-affirming activities. We reject the Bush administration’s fear-based politics that justify violence, and instead calls for policies based on compassion, kindness and a commitment to international law. With an emphasis on joy and humor, CODEPINK women and men seek to activate, amplify and inspire a community of peacemakers through creative campaigns and a commitment to non-violence.

My principles of web design are:

  • Accessibility
  • Ease of use
  • Interactivity
  • Elegant (simple) visual design

Everything on this page is customizable. It can all be changed. The banner can be simplified, or more photos can be added to the montage. (Can you see the little dog?) We can use National’s banner, although the dancing, clashing boxes make me slightly ill.

Notice that we don’t have much white on this page. That’s for accessibility. Sites with too much white and/or contrasting colors can cause seizures. Gaiaonline, for example, recently re-did their colors after becoming aware of this. I feel more soothing colors are restful to the eyes, especially if you are trying to read for information. What do you think?

Anyone in our chapter can have an account for this site. You will be able to upload videos and other files, add items to the calendar and write articles as posts or web pages. You will be able to comment on posts. Instead of waiting for your webmistress to do all these things, you can do it yourself! Of course, if you have trouble, I will help you or publish your content for you.
